What our customers say about their holidays
Tracey - Verified booking
We arrived late in the snow and looked forward to lighting and relaxing in front of the log burner after our journey - infact that was the main reason we booked this place.
Then we saw no logs had been left for us despite a message telling us to help ourselves to them plus the description online said the fuel was provided so we were sadly unable to light a fire our first night. There was also a lot of dog poo on the drive which we had to tip toe around in the snow. The youngsters staying at Ty Mawr next door had a party on the first 2 nights we stayed there. There was screaming, loud laughing, arguments and door slamming and it woke up up both nights at about 2am. Cobwebs were behind the bed in the single room and in the corners of the wall. Like others have said there was nowhere to put your stuff as there was no cupboards or shelves in either the bedrooms or bathrooms so we had to live out of our bags all week. The beds were hard and uncomfortable and we turned the heater off in the small bedroom and then it would not come on again all week. The oven would not cook our food properly as the food was either raw or burnt and there was no baking trays to cook food on. We ruined a few meals. Despite this we had a good time and the owner seemed lovely and left a few treats so we asked if we could stay a couple of extra nights at the end of the holiday. We paid £326 for the whole week plus a £39 booking fee to Sykes so was a bit shocked when the owner said he wanted an extra £200 for 2 nights. We made our excuses and left. Not sure we would go back as there are many other places to stay in Llandudno but we had a good time despite the bad snowy, windy weather.

We visited Ty Bach Cottage from 10.
1.20 to 17.1.20 and were some of its first guests. As regular cottage renters (about 6 times a year) I can honestly say this was one of the best weâve ever stayed in. The cottage has very recently been completely renovated too the highest standards, and the décor, fixtures and fittings are all top class. On arrival there was a comprehensive welcome pack with tea and coffee making facilities and a bottle of Prosecco and some sweets. There are also some nice âhigh-endâ touches like free access to Netflix, dishwasher, washer/dryer, Wi-Fi and all en-suite bedrooms. During our visit the owners also let us have a look at Ty Mawr their neighbouring cottage which is equally well renovated and finished to the highest standards, just a lot bigger. Ty Bach is located in one of the highest settlements on the Great Orme with great views of Llandudno Bay and over the Conwy estuary to Conwy Castle. Access to the cottage is by very steep and narrow roads, however most cars and vans seemed to have no problems (Iâd make sure my car was in good order however before visiting especially clutch and brakes). The Cottage is very dog friendly and our two loved their stay, be careful though and remembers to keep your dogs âON LEADâ at all times when outside the garden, the Great Orme is working farmland as well as a country park and has around 122 wild Kashmiri Goats. We will definitely stay again, the only negative thing in our stay was a bit of wild and windy weather, which nobody can control.

We arrived at the cottage late Friday in the evening we un-packed the car and went to charge up at the charger to find it was not working.
The cottage having a charging point was one of the main selling points and one of the many reasons we chose to return for a second consecutive year. The charger takes any anxiety out of exploring the area which is really beautiful if you have an electric car. I contacted the owner about the charger and an electrician came around on Sunday to repair the charger so I could use it to charge my car, the local charging infrastructure isn't great. The electrician said he would have been up to repair it on the saturday but it was really wet and rainy that day so not really safe to do the repairs. The owner also offered me the use of his alternative private charger down in Llandudno itself which was much appreciated but I had managed to put some volts into my car from a leisure center charger while we were out shopping in Llandudno. The cottage was much the same as the last time we stayed with the exception of a different sofa which had been replaced for a newer one. The cottage is an adequate clean, tidy, warm and functional base to chill and explore the surrounding area, it's in a great location a short walk to the copper mine and not far from the Great Orme Summit. In my experience if you have an issue text the owner and I'm sure he will do his very best to quickly sort it for you. Thanks for a nice stay.

I would to share some feedback.
Firstly, the cottage was lovely. Though I would not book with Sykes again⦠the emails were good as far as information but if you need to speak to someone from there then it was almost impossible to actually speak to a person.. ⦠this was after I emailed at least twice, utilised their whatâs app Facility - no reply on any of these. It felt like once Iâd paid no one could be bothered. I called eventually after finding a number and got cut off. Called again to be passed around. VERY hard work and not very professional. The cottage was lovely - the BIGGEST gripe I had was that cleaners had been in yet I couldnât believe the amount of dog hairs on the sofa that were quite obvious and I had to get the hoover out. It is something I feel strongly about as I donât let our dog on sofas. I just felt that cleaning the settee would have been done before we arrived. We did need the heating on at least 2 evenings and the heaters were quite difficult to understand and work out. Overall nice cottage and the location is beautiful as youâre half way up the great Orme but for me, customer service was the letdown.

We were the first guests after lockdown eased and on arrival the cottage was cold as the storage heater had not been switched on in the living area.
We were extremely cold the first night despite lighting the wood burning stove, it was only after communicating with the owner the next day that we found the plinth heater in the kitchen area which helped. Access to the cottage is challenging as there is a very narrow lane from which you have to manoeuvre towards the cottage. The shower in the bedroom did not work but we were able to use the shower in the second bedroom - in fairness the owner offered to have it attended to either before or after we left. Both bathrooms were clean and modern but the shower was very weak and could not be used at full power as it began to pulse and the temperature varied - checking the instructions it would appear this is down to low water pressure. We found the bed comfortable and the bed linen was clean. The cottage had been renovated to a good standard and is in a lovely location with excellent walks around Great Orme literally on the doorstep - it was lovely to see the goats and their kids on the walks and we have some photographs to treasure.
