What our customers say about their holidays

Arrived at the property and the smell was disgusting, the sofa was untidy and biscuit crumbs were everywhere. Log burner dusty. Blinds broken. Door knobs broken. Chairs all stained. Kitchen dirty. Drain in garden blocked, hence the smell. Garden flooded when water used in house and full of weeds, couldn't sit outside, fag butts everywhere. Toilet not cleaned, wee on the seat, bath flithy with hairs and bin full of you don't want to know what. Had to buy cleaning supplies just to use. Sand in the upstairs room. Carpet tacks in stairs that stab your feet. No coffee machine as adverted. Many marks and stains on the walls. Dust on all the skirting boards. Bathroom tap would not stop dripping. The worst place we have ever stayed. Contacted Air BNB and complained, 21 emails later no resolution, just excuses to delay this review. Do not waste your money staying there, we don't know if they even bothered to fix all the problems. The smell was overwhelming, everything just felt dirty.

The cottage is delightful and the village pretty, with a lovely pub and very handy well stocked shop nearby. The owners were generous with the essentials and lots of lovely thoughtful touches, which is not the standard for holiday cottage lets and therefore very much appreciated. The road running through the village was busier than I expected, though the additional glazing of the windows does eliminate a lot of this noise. It is of course far more noticeable with the doors or windows open, but I suspect this wouldn't bother everyone. Our stay unfortunately coincided with some emergency roadworks which greatly exacerbated the problem. This aside I would very much recommend this cottage for its comfort and the decor. As you would expect with a cottage of this age the original features are very quirky and extra care is required on the stairs. Thank you to the owners for the use of their beautiful cottage for the week.

The house was lovely and clean, very comfortable with a very large dining room.
Both bedrooms where a nice size with nice beds, one bedroom had a on suite bathroom. You only had on street parking both this was no problem as there was always a place to park. If you wanted to watch television you had to watch though a app as there no Ariel but then again this was no issue. Our main issue was the front and back doors. You could not really use the back door as someone has broken a key in the lock. We had problems all week with the front door as it was difficult to both lock and unlocked. In the end we had to contact the owner as we couldn't leave the property as the door would not lock .to be fair the owner got out to as quick as he could and sorted the problem. He has arranged a locksmith to go there and change both locks I would still recommend it to anyone thinking of staying in margate.we enjoyed our stay there

This is a most charming and historic cottage. It is very beautiful if you like character features, and the amazing slope of the floorboards upstairs is incredible! Probably not for tall people as some of the beams are low but for us it was perfect. Everything you could possibly need is provided in the cottage and the location is very convenient for many local attractions nearby. It is in a village that has a lot of through traffic, and is on a corner of a junction, so can be quite noisy at rush hour, but it did not detract from our enjoyment of the cottage. Hosts were lovely and could not do enough for us. Would absolutely recommend as a place to stay in Kent.

This cottage has lots of charm and authenticity. The owners make you feel very comfortable indeed. We stayed here in autumn so made no use of the garden which would have been slightly noisy otherwise. Sissinghurst is a top location for visiting sights such as National Trust properties. We have never lived slap bang in the middle of a village and it was a great experience, being within walking distance to the shop, the pub and the chippy. Tall people (like us) beware. You have to duck quite a bit in places but we managed to avoid any bumps on the head. Parking is great. Just as the seating, the bathroom and the beds. A great property!
