What our customers say about their holidays

Great location as close to the beach (approx 15 min walk).
Very comfortable beds and the furniture included sun loungers, which is a must as far as I am concerned. We had a heatwave during our stay so the lined curtains kept the heat out when needed. The kitchen wanted for nothing and the welcome pack was a nice touch. I loved the fact that this property does recycling and all the bags were provided for this This was a great place to relax and the wildlife, in the huge garden, were a joy to photograph. We walked to the Bedruthan Steps along the coastal path which is close to the Lodge, just across the road and down a private road. My only constructive criticism is that the Information pack in the house is out of date. Lots of construction and re naming of properties in Mawgan Porth mean that the walk instructions are confusing. We know Mawgan Porth well so knew where to go. Just an update on the walking instructions is all that is needed. It would be helpful too if the Smart TV could be set up for the free BBC i player, ITVX etc. We were surprised to see a static mobile home in the front garden which luckily was not being used! But was worried for a minute!! We loved Seaport Lodge.

Sykes were impossible to get hold of after many failed attempts I gave up.
The beds were not very comfortable and the slats under one of the single beds kept falling out. The toilet seat was lose in the bathroom and the shower curtain out dated and not very effective so let water all over the floor. There were not enough towels so we had to wash them often. The boiler stopped working on the last night so no hot water and it was not clear who to call. The rubbish collection notice in the kitchen said Friday and we later discovered the house folder said Tuesday so that wasn't clear at all. The rug in the ensuite room had really unpleasant odour and the curtains were very sheer so let all the light in. The house is in a lovely position however and the garden is superb. The living room if very comfortable with lovely views out to sea and kitchen is quite new I think and very well equipped. There is a great dining area too and on this basis I would recommend the house but hope the owners take the feedback in the spirit in which is meant which is constructive, because it could be so much better with a few small improvements.

Generally we had a lovely time.
This is a lovely property with a stunning garden and in a fabulous location, with great views. It is well appointed and we found it very helpful to have an additional fridge freezer in the utility area. There was also a very helpful folder of information in the property. We were so lucky with the weather that we didn't need to use the fire (but it looked lovely) and didn't even switch on the lovely big TV. If weather is less good there are a nice selection of games and books in the property too. The problem for our party was that despite the property being listed as all ground floor, what isn't mentioned is that for every doorway into the bungalow there are steps (some quite steep). I have mobility difficulties so it meant I needed help in and out of the bungalow every time, which wasn't great, and the 10 minute walk to the beach is down a steep and uneven path, ending with steps I couldn't manage. This is in no way a criticism of the property, but the listing should really make these things clear.

The property was to a high standard, comfortable and accessible. The garden was beautiful and the kids and dog loved playing on the grass. Rooms were all a decent size and two bathrooms were convenient. The outdoor shower was especially good for post beach and sea swimming. Kitchen was well equipped although the owner could/should replace the tiny fridge and freezer for a more suitably sized one. It got a bit tedious always having to walk to the utility area to reach the larger fridge. A car charger for electric cars would be helpful or an outdoor socket on the driveway. The dryer could/should be plumbed in to remove the water or a sink added to the utility otherwise you are carrying a full drawer of water to the closest sink/front door. The drying rack for wetsuits was awesome but again once the tray below was filled with water it was a balancing act to empty it in the closest sink/front door. We had a brilliant time and would thoroughly recommend.

We have stayed in numerous properties in Mawgan Porth and have to say that Treath Barn is an absolute stand out! Perfect location for access to the sea - yes its a steep walk down ...and especially up, but far shorter than accessing from the village and walking across long stretches of sand. The layout of the accommodation itself was perfect for us, especially being able to section off the downstairs bedroom and bathroom areas to keep wet dogs contained. The property was also equipped to a very high standard. I love to cook and usually have to 'make do' without weighing scales, baking tins, rolling pins etc...but not here - Treath's kitchen was just like a home from home. Finally I must commend the beautiful furnishings, a squishy, luxurious, wonderful sofa, lovely wall art and decorative touches, and some quality cook books and reading material to boot! Wonderful. We'll definitely be back.
