  The little beach cabin on the whole is a really lovely place, the location is absolutely perfect and great for exploring the beautiful beaches and walks on offer.

  The bed and sofa are really comfortable and the log fire is great for those cosy nights in. There were a couple of things that sadly let it down, when I booked in April the property was listed as having a washing machine which I can since see another reviewer has mentioned, I specifically checked this as staying for ten nights felt one was needed, when we arrived the welcome pack said the washing machine and dryer could be found in the utility room. We couldn’t find this utility room at all and upon checking with property management were informed there wasn’t one. This was disappointing as we had packed lightly thinking we could wash our clothes half way through the stay. The other issue which did impact our stay was the blind to the French doors, it is not fitted correctly and was not working and it fell down on our first night. This really impacted our sleep as the light was so bright in the mornings to the bedroom. Property management did come out to put in a temporary fix however it took them a few days to arrive so our first five mornings were disturbed, not ideal as we had really wanted to use this time to rest well and not be up at 6.30am for half of the holiday. Other than those issues this was a really lovely holiday and crantock is well worth the visit for peace and tranquility!

  Monks cottage is truly delightful in a superb location with spectacular views.

  Ideal proximity to the local Stannary town of Chagford, West Devon and Dartmoor National Park. The cottage provides the perfect stay for couples looking to explore the region. The accommodation is extremely spacious and beautifully decorated and extremely well equipped. The surrounding hedged gardens are so lovely with ponds, an orchard, abundance of wonderful plants and flowers and so well maintained. The land around the cottage provides the opportunity to walk and explore or sit and enjoy this lovely environment. There is also a garden and seating to enjoy directly outside the cottage. The owners property sits next to Monks cottage and Nicky and Si are the most delightful, hospitable hosts you could imagine. They are interesting, friendly and extremely helpful. Their enthusiasm and energy for the property and their beautiful surroundings is infectious!!! You cannot help feeling the warmth and passion these lovely hosts have given to their much loved lifestyle and the effort and work that has been put in to achieve what they have and now share with others. This was the most enjoyable four days away we could have spent and we would highly recommend. Thank you so much Nicky and Si

  This was our second visit to Monks cottage,this time for two weeks.

  The place is absolutely fabulous,as are the gardens,especially at this time of year,when the flowers are in full bloom.The cottage is like a home from home,with everything you need for your stay.Very peaceful,as you are right in the heart of the country,with lots of wildlife,and only the occasional passing traffic. Nicky & Simon,the owners,live on site,and are the most wonderful, interesting ,and welcoming people we have had the pleasure of staying with.We also loved meeting Henry,their new Golden Labrador puppy,who loved visiting us in the cottage!   The cottage was beautiful and tranquil.

  Nicky and Simon were lovely hosts as well as Henry, their (I think) Labrador who was very sweet. They had gone to the effort of fresh flowers and bread/milk which was a really nice touch. The cottage has a lovely bedroom overlooking the fields and there is a private garden. We also had access to the shared garden/field and there was a lake at the bottom of this which was peaceful for an evening stroll. It is very well connected and has some nice restaurants locally for an evening meal after walking in Dartmoor. In summary, a lovely cottage making it an enjoyable and peaceful trip!

  What an amazing cabin, everything was just as listed.

  We had often looked for a quirky romantic place to stay, and Little Beach Cabin has been that perfect place. It was ideally situated to enjoy the huge beach at Crantock, as well as the much quieter Polly Joke. We had unknowingly chosen a week where the tides were perfect to enjoy both beaches at low tide. Our collie thoroughly enjoyed her extended walks and play times, she has returned shattered but happy. We are looking forward to returning for another break in the not too distant future.
