What our customers say about their holidays
Jim - Verified booking
We don't usually submit reviews, however we felt that the description of this property oversold it and it was in need of some tender loving care.
The points we want to draw to the owner's attention are noted below: 1. Cleanliness - crockery, tea pot and cutlery needed to be washed prior to use. Previous guests appear to have merely rinsed these items and put them away rather than throughly wash them. The washing machine also dirty resulting in marks on light coloured clothing. Rubber door seal needed cleaning and perhaps too much washing powder was used in previous washes! Spiders webs with dust were found in the bedroom and bathroom. The radiator in the bedroom was full of hair and dust. 2. Shower- the thermostat could not be adjusted, paint splatters on the shower tray 3 Bedding - flannelette sheet and pillowcases on the bed, far too warm in the height of summer 4 Other internal issues - clock in kitchen not working, fridge freezer old, fridge door doesn't always close although there is a note on the fridge saying push to close, drawer in freezer had been broken and was glued back together rather than replaced, dificult to control temperature in fridge due to its age, either freezing or not cold enough. Fruit bowl on shelf broken and although kitchen well equiped we found a lot of chipped crockery. Kitchen stools too high to comfortably sit at the breakfast bar. 5. Back garden - weeds in back seating area. Recycling bins take up a lot of room and would benefit from being all together in a stacking device. 6. Parking- Its not a quiet street, its very narrow with cars parked on both sides and no turning space at the end. Parking was a challenge and other residents asked us to move our car from the door.

On first arriving was a disappointing start as we were informed that the outside lights were not working.
Not helpful when check in is after 4 and youâd daughter has mobility issues, this issue was not addressed for the duration of our stay despite raising the issue again with all the rest of the problems. The cabin looked nice enough but things soon started to go wrong. The freezer wasnât turned on for our arrival, which meant that some of our food defrosted and had to be thrown away, the main doors bolt for the stable door was held in with tissue so that instantly fell out, the fridge door wonât stay closed, we went out for the day and returned to it open resulting in more wasted food, the pots and pans had not been cleaned properly after the previous guests and were unusable as they were disgusting, this was rectified by the owner but sadly the pots were from b&m and the coating came off the bottom and mixed into our food. The cooker was faulty and again we informed the owner who came out tried to light the problem ring and said oh weâve had problems with this before but it was left not fully working. We were offered £50 as compensation for not being able to cook Christmas dinner in the cabin Everything was dirty old and tired, there was clothes still in the wardrobes and drawers when we arrived, old food left in the kitchen cupboards and lots of items and dust under the bed. All in all the location is wonderful and with some tlc the cabin could be amazing but given all the issues we left early feeling ripped off and very disappointed

A well equipped comfortable cottage just inside Wales.
The kitchen is well appointed with a new electric range cooker and all the other mod cons needed. Full instructions for use are also provided unlike some cottages. Main bedroom is large with a very comfortable bed, the galley nature of this was barely noticeable as there were just the two of us, although I can see that if you came with a family you would want to use the curtain provided to give some privacy. The bathroom is perfectly adequate if somewhat compact. The property was well cleaned and ready on our arrival. The sighting of the cottage was perfect for visiting Llangollen with it's steam railway and canal/aqueducts, both of which are recommended visits, Bala and its lake and railway, Chester with it's Roman history as well as Shrewsbury and Welshpool. The village stores locally and in Chirk are good as are the butchers in Llangollen and Chirk. Our only real criticism was the on road parking which although adequate in itself made it difficult to turn around without using nearby driveways which we were asked not to do. Other than that a good place to stay and one we could use again in the future.

Towny Hall was so spacious and homely.
It had everything you could need while away from home. Welcome basket was a nice little treat. Bedrooms were comfortable and airy. There was only a little shaving mirror to do hair and makeup in the bedrooms (owners are in process of changing this by putting bigger ones in) Having a bath to relax in was a bonus ( couldnât have window open as anyone in back could see you getting out,(not a pretty sight for them!) Garden is a sun trap, (make sure to pack sunscreen) but is a little over grown. Hot tub was wonderful to relax after the walk back from the sea, but needs to be maintained daily. Kitchen is so spacious and has everything that you would need to cook with. Fridge freezer was amazing! Louise and Dave were both welcoming as well as being new to the business and we wish them all the success for the future. We look forward to booking up again in the near future.
