What our customers say about their holidays

I asked several times before travelling down as to whether there was a iron and ironing board in the house as i had a family event to attend.
Also, as the listing mentioned a pond but didn't show any images i asked if it was covered or safe with dogs about. I heard nothing back on either of these points. There was an iron and an ironing board but the board didn't have a cover. As for the pond, really think the word pond is stretching it. It was a large puddle in a stone. My dog liked to drink from it though which i discouraged him from obviously. The garden itself was lovely and well kept. Spent many a chilled hour. It has sun all day and really is a treat for this part of Cornwall. The house was like visiting your grandparents house. It had a real family owned feel, and was generally fine. There are lots of spiders but that didn't bother us. Really think though that a double bed rather than two singles in the backroom away from traffic noise would be an idea. There was dirty linen in a bag in the bathroom, and might have brought back some creepy crawlies with us but not sure if that came from the house. I loved the kitchen feel, and liked the way you could open up the door to the garden. Equipment wise it was all fine, feel the TV could do with an upgrade. All in all at the right price we would return!

We had a superb holiday at Trevells in June 2021. The property is very spacious - well able to accommodate 3 families, and very well equipped including a washing machine and dishwasher and plenty of kitchen utensils and equipment. It also has a good-sized garden and a good BBQ on the patio. The bedrooms are also very spacious with comfortable accommodation. The location is excellent, being a 20 minute or so walk to the superb Polzeath beach - which is excellent for a family holiday and for swimming and surfing. There are also other excellent things to see and do in the area including Rick Stein's restaurants at Padstow and a fantastic winery. We also were extremely pleased with the help given to us by Cornwall Hideaways - they are absolutely outstanding. We will recommend both Cornwall Hideaways (already have!) to others and also Trevells itself. A great holiday. We will stay again.

We had a wonderful time In Cornwall.
This is the second time we have booked with Sykes Cottages. Hebaska was perfectly presented and the location and type of property was super for our family. We enjoyed many a night playing badminton in the garden which is a perfect place to relax and unwind after a busy day at the coast. Thank you to the property owner and to the wonderful cleaner who contacted us on the second week at the property. She was extremely helpful offering to change bedding/towels and also provided information about when the bin go out. The only down side, there was no recycling service at the property. This was not the owners policy, but I believe it was the local council who make the decision. Sad to see so many bottles go in to the first weeks general waste. The cleaner however, came up trumps when she offered to recycle the second week for us. She was a superstar! Thank you.

Although the cottage was in a good location the road it was on was extremely busy.
People parked vans outside the windows each day and night therefore could not open the blinds as there was no privacy. The vans being parked there also made it difficult to see when driving off the driveway onto the busy main road. Not very clean, used cotton wool pad in the wardrobe. Cobwebs through out the cottage (I appreciate that it is an old building but a quick check would of rectified this) Kitchen window would not open. Dishwasher had been left on and we walked into suds all over the kitchen floor so we had to mop the floor before we could bring anything in from the car. It's a pretty, quirky cottage that just needs tweaking and better detail to cleaning. I wouldn't stay there again due to the lack of privacy and the the busy road that's not to say that I wouldn't recommend it as it does have a lovely garden at the rear and the location is good.

We have been to Crantock on many occasions stopping in various accommodation, the Dunes was the best so far.
It was very clean comfortable in a great location. The kitchen was well equipped with little touches like tea coffee milk and a lovely cake to get you started. There was even dish washer tablets, which we forgot, washing detergent, dog bowls everything you may need. The bed we used on the bottom floor was very warm and comfortable. The roomy lounge was also comfortable but could do with a larger TV for those rainy days in. The garden was small but adequate with lots of seating areas. On the whole we had a great stay. The village and surrounding area is beautiful. Great for walking, dining at the local pubs, having a coffee at local coffee shop, buying essential from shop across the road, catching bus to Newquay which stops less than 2 mins walk away. We would definitely book again.
