What our customers say about their holidays

We had a gorgeous week in a lovely cottage.
When we spoke to the owner beforehand, she said there was a stipulation that dogs should not go upstairs - there's a stair gate which makes that easier. We suggested that this went on the website as our dogs sleep upstairs at home and we had to train them to be comfortable downstairs in their crates without us. Luckily we did have the time to do that and the owner has amended the website, so that's all good. Front door lock was very tricky - the key turned and turned and turned and it could take five minutes to get it to catch and click. Not fun in the dark! I'm sure they'l sort that quickly. Apart from that, it was a perfect cottage. We really appreciated the bottle of Prosecco left for us; it truly is two minutes from the sea; the coastal walks are steep but glorious; it was clean and comfortable and, despite what the blurb emailed to us, said, it DID have DVDs, books and jigsaws. Car parking on the front - our old Merc 220CDi just fitted so be aware that if you've got a monster, it might not. Would definitely go again. Just what we needed. The local shop is a Tardis of wonderful stuff including fresh cakes every day;

We have just returned from 3 glorious weeks staying at Avon Cottage.
It is ideally placed being so near St Ives which is easily accessible by bus no.16 with the stop just around the corner by Tesco. It takes you directly to Royal Square saving the difficulty of driving in and trying to find parking. Staying at Avon Cottage was a wonderful experience because it has really comfy beds and pillows. There is plenty of space for all visitors and there are thoughtful touches like books and games as well as a smart TV and good Wi-Fi. We cooked each day and found all appliances in the kitchen easy to use and efficient. We would have liked more mugs as we did run out of these quite often and perhaps a couple of plastic bowls for the microwave would have been useful. Otherwise the cottage is top notch and well recommended. We really enjoyed our stay and loved meeting the owners.

Coth Skyber is a hidden gem in a brilliant location for exploring west Cornwall.
The cottage itself has everything you need for your holiday. The cottage is light and airy with a lovely garden perfect for children to play in while adults can watch on from the comfy living area. We were a group of two parents, two grandparents and two young children (3 &8) and we all said it was our favourite location to stay in this part of Cornwall having previously stayed in Porthleven, Marazion and Hayle. The branch line to St Ives being a 15 minute walk away is a massive bonus as is being able to drive to St Michael's Mount in a few minutes. We loved Hayle for the 3 amazing ice cream shops, but preferred the quietness of being able to relax I the quiet village. There are lovely local walks, particularly along the river Hayle towards the RSPB reserve. We can't wait to return!

The house was as described but very much in need of updating and redecorating.
I would only want 2 people staying there. Anymore would be too crowded. The porch smelled of damp and there was a unpleasant smell in the region of the fridge. The outside area was full of fallen leaves which hadnât been cleared, which was a slip hazard. There were signs asking us to put all used bedding and towels in bags, but no bags. A call to the caretaker pointed us in the right direction. The COVID situation seems ridiculous. You go on holiday for a break but end up having to strip your own beds. This has deterred us from taking another break until the situation changes. Also the lampshades obviously hadnât been cleaned for many years looking at the dust so thatâs doesnât help with cleanliness either. It was nice to have the sea within a minutes walk and a lovely beach.

Beautiful cottage in a very good location. It was lovely and clean (smelt amazing!), the kitchen was well equipped and the décor lovely and modern. The garden was sunny most of the day but shadier in the evening. Hot tub was great and nice and sheltered tucked away in the corner. The local beach is only a 5 minute drive away (you have to pay for parking at between certain hours (suggest paying on the app before leaving the cottage as there isn't much signal at the beach). We had a lovely lunch at the Cornish Arms (you can walk there through the caravan park) and great fish and chips from Fryer Tuck. Padstow Farm Shop was good for meat for the BBQ. Easy to travel to visit nearby beaches and towns. Overall we had a lovely week and would definitely return.
