What our customers say about their holidays

Our stay at Roosters was fantastic.
The owners made us feel so welcome; they were so kind and generous to even leave fresh scones and all needed for breakfast next morning, which was much appreciated as we arrived late. They also left a bottle of Cornish white for us, really kind. They were really helpful answering all our questions and also provided us with a fantastic information pack. The property was spotless clean and it had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable; the outdoor gardens were beautiful and we loved the beauty and privacy of the terrace garden; we could even play some football wih our child there. We also liked that we were close to a different array of amenities so everyday we could visit some place of interest after enjoying a relaxed breakfast. We will definetely come back. Only thing I would say is that the description of the property on Sykes doesn't make it justice.

The apartment is absolutely stunning and the view is a real wow, we spent a lot of time on the balcony watching the surfers.
When we arrived the apartment was not up my standard of cleanliness, the floor in the lounge certainly needed hovering, and dust had gathered under the coffee table. The cleaner had left half used toilet paper on the breakfast island which is not something you like to see when first arriving in a property. The washing machine door was found to be broken , Traci answered my text message immediately stating she would be round the following day (that didn't happen) . Some of the cups are chipped so should be replaced. I know this is personal preference but it needs a kettle, the water from the tap is not hot enough to make a cup of tea. Just to make people aware the Walkabout pub is not very far away so you can hear some noise especially at night. Having said that we had a brilliant time and thankyou for the goodies you left us.

The property is in a very good location, we knew this beforehand as stayed in another property in this block earlier in the year.
However, there were a couple of niggles with this one: would have prefer curtains at the full length window/door, even though it is 2nd floor people can still see in. There is only a 'Quooker' hot water tap. I personally do not like these and would have preferred an option of a kettle, which I ended up going and buying. The double bed mattress could do with being replaced as it slopes to the edges. The plastic 'dining chairs' did not suit the property. The same chairs were on the balcony. Having used Sykes numerous times I was disappointed this time that having contacted them twice regarding the property, the day before and the day of our stay (as we travelled down), as the contact numbers we were given for queries were not answered, that we did not get any call backs with answers.

Stayed 3-10 September 2022 Absolutely recommend this cottage, peaceful surrounded by open land that we were encouraged to explore.
Host, Ed made us very welcome and the added touches were the flowers, bottle of wine and cream tea left for us. Accommodation was lovely and the beds extremely comfortable, gorgeous sheets! TV reception was poor but this didnât concern us as we didnât intend to watch TV until the Queen died on out last night and we wanted to catch up on the news. Only slight criticism is the wording in the description which says âone mile to the shops â whilst this is true, I feel it should mention that it is down a long and windy road with no pavement either side which made walking to it quite difficult..This was pointed out by the Ed when we arrived but it should perhaps be in the initial information. Would definitely stay at Roosters again. Julie, Gary, Mark and Ann

Fantastic place to celebrate a special occasion and family holiday.
Hope to come back again. The panoramic views of the sea and coast from Broadlands was spectacular, just beautiful. The hot tub was the icing on the cake, together with cream tea set out on the table on arrival. Clotted cream, Cornish tea, coffee, milk, apple juice also provided. Facilities and furnishings were all of good quality, bedrooms comfortable and spacious living areas. Only negatives were low water pressure for the showers and could do with another shower room for 8 people sharing, small dressing tables in all bedrooms would have been useful, cling film, tin foil in the kitchen. We found the garden parasol already broken, propped it up best we could but kept falling over, would have been useful during the hot summer sunshine while we were there.
