  What a lovely surprise awaited us when we arrived, flowers,bread,tea,Welsh cakes, crisps, wine and some chocolate These really made our first night …….

  Thanks Rowan cottage is a comfortable cottage just off the main high street in Builth Wells The cottage had everything we needed, and was very clean and tidy The double bed on the third floor was very comfy we slept very well, on the second floor there are 2 single beds and a lovely bathroom with both a shower and a bath The ground floor is shared with a kitchen and a cosy living room with a log burner which we didn’t use as it wasn’t cold enough The garden was a great bonus for our dog Plenty of shops on Castle street and pubs think we counted 7 There’s some lovely cafe’s too we only visited the Cwtch cafe which do a lovely full breakfast for £5.95 if you don’t fancy cooking We really enjoyed our stay the only problem was when we first booked we thought we had WiFi as it did state WiFi but elsewhere on the listing it states coming soon which we didn’t see It wasn’t a problem for us, but was for our son and be aware the phone signal is very patchy depending on your supplier There is on road car parking outside the cottage but we never managed to park there Behind the property is a Co op were you can pay to park over night or there’s a free carpark in town The photo of the cottage really doesn’t do justice to the quality of the cottage on the inside it really is lovely I’m sure we’ll be back as we enjoyed the area so much and thanks for calling us to let us know we’d left our dog bed which allowed us to come back to collect it

  Lovely cottage with well equipped kitchen.

  A thoughtful welcome hamper of goodies which was really appreciated. Plenty of bedding, towels, dvds and games. We didn’t need to leave the cottage - which was so comfortable - but we did! Managed to keep warm despite -7 degrees outside. Log burner and logs available for use - although we were warm enough without lighting this. Cottage situated in a great location for exploring beyond Builth. Would definitely stay again. Only negative was that we couldn’t find a visitors book so was not sure what to do with general rubbish.

  Lovely property.

  Well equipped kitchen - the fact that there’s a full size fridge freezer , as opposed to a small freezer box , was very much appreciated . Only small downside was that the heavy metal gate across the driveway needed to be closed to have an enclosed garden for the dog. We had two cars and you couldn’t close the gate if one party was out in their car - the road was too busy to stop and open the gate . Minor inconvenience given the excellent location and great accommodation . Would hope to be back next year .

  What a wonderful place, close to retail shopping, only 10 minutes walk to town centre, 5 minutes to Asda & about 8 minutes to the sea front.

  Karen the owner was very helpful when we had an enquiry, only minor setback was the tv has Netflix app installed but could not register on it. Prime & bbc iplayer worked fine, could do with adding more apps. Would also be ideal if there was a wooden gated small fence by the kitchen door to keep small dogs safe as ours would have got through the drive gate he's a cavapoo, so couldn't let him runaround as he likes to. But overall really good break & weather was kind. Mr D Williams/ stockport

  I am disabled and had to use the downstairs bedroom it smelt awful like a cat ...

  I am disabled and had to use the downstairs bedroom it smelt awful like a cat peed on the carpet I had to call Karen to sort it out she came promptly and put in an air freshener which didn’t stop it smelling and it got up your nose all night The wardrobe in there was mouldy inside and Karen had to come and clean it the beds in there were uncomfortable ok for kids but not for adults we had had enough by the Thursday and came home a day early the room was mouldy and damp and musty
