What our customers say about their holidays
Sarah - Verified booking
In the description of the property there was no mention that there was a 'pop up' campsite on the property, and the fact that campers queued for the one toilet outside Rhys Carreg.
This rather destroyed the hot tub experience, which was less secluded than photos suggested. Due to Covid, the owner had limited what was provided, and whilst bringing towels isn't difficult, bringing a bath mat seemed extreme. Also, this was the first holiday home for many years that didn't have some holiday basics in the cupboards - salt, foil, cling film etc. There seemed a strange collection of glasses - one pint, one fruit juice, one tumbler - something of everything, but not pairs of things other than champagne flutes and wine glasses. It was lovely to have a dishwasher, but not enough crockery to use it economically ie putting it on every 2-3 days. The lack of a map was also unusual in our experience. The owner was very friendly and asked us if we needed anything but it seemed petty to ask for extra glasses so we made do. Our holiday was still very enjoyable due to the location and weather.

The rural setting is outstanding, and we spent each evening on the patio admiring the spectacular views.
With sheep roaming the fields below, it's easy to forget the stresses of modern-day life. Our pod was impeccably equipped and spotless. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised by the fresh farm eggs and biscuits that had been provided! Alex was very attentive every morning, ensuring that our private hot tub was kept clean and heated throughout the day. It was always ready whenever we wanted to use it, which we did after our walks and again to watch the sunset, glass of wine in hand! The Wi-Fi was excellent, and I was able to conduct a few business meetings online without any issues. Additionally, Lucy was extremely well-organized and responsive, always eager to help with any questions or concerns. We highly recommend Rooster's Restâit's simply impossible to go wrong. Alex and Lucy are exceptional hosts.

This was a fabulous find!
The property (The Byre) was gorgeous, incredibly comfortable and very spacious; the owners had thought of everything. This is, by far, one of the best places we have ever stayed. The garden was perfect for my German Shepherd and the place was situated within reach of so many lovely places to go, particularly with a dog. In particular, we loved Dunraven Castle and Beach. The Farmers Arms (Turkish Mezze) served amazing food - we just wished we had visited it earlier in our holiday so we could have gone back and tried other things on the menu. It was lovely to meet Emma; she and her husband David are an inspiration and have created a wonderful space! Oh - and you have to stop by the Kune Kune piggies, they are bundles of fun (although they are fast becoming "teenagers")!!! Thank you so much for having us.

We had the most peaceful stay at Roosters Rest!
The view from the balcony is beautiful by day with grazing sheep on the rolling hills and by night with the thousands of stars. The hot tub was perfect and we loved that you could get into it straight from the balcony so that doggo was safe on the balcony and could still be near us. The hut itself is very well thought out in terms of space and practicality and the interiors were modern and cosy. The location is perfect, only 20 minutes from Eden Valley where we walked to look at the dams on both days we were there. We didnât feel the need to go out to eat as cooking at the pod and sitting on the balcony was so perfect. So pleased we found this little gem and canât wait to be back. Thank you Aled and Lucy for being so helpful and friendly.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Byre and definitely won't be the last.
The whole experience is so comfortable and peaceful with everything you could wish for within reach. The piggies have grown a bit but then they are a year older! They still came running towards us with squeals of glee which sets the day off with a big smile. The people on the farm are really friendly, nothing is too much trouble, it's such a pleasure to stay here. Perfect for Sasha, my German Shepherd, lots of interesting and fun walks and beaches to visit. If the weather prohibits beach visits, the large garden and farm tracks are so handy. We highly recommend The Farmers Arms. Amazing Sunday roast with a special bowl of lamb, beef and turkey for Sasha which was a huge winner for both her and me! Thank you so much for having us.
