  Lovely place to stay, accommodation well laid out.

  Didn’t realise it was a Holiday Park (Ex Butlins) when I booked. The accommodation was very good. Sofas need addressing as reported in previous feedbacks, but didn’t ruin stay. The Holiday Park had a Pub (Drinks not cheap) Restaurant (Food OK) with Shop (items not cheap but convenient) Gym, Swimming Pool, Amusement Arcade & Tennis Courts. Local Shops 1-3 miles away. Pub outside Holiday Park is about 30 minutes walking distance & very friendly, Menu very good & friendly atmosphere. Locations we visited nearby, Filey (3 miles), Scarborough (8), Robin Hood Bay (25) & Whitby (28). These places worth visiting as well as other places. Although we didn’t have the best of weather, Myself, Wife & Dog all had a good time. Overall I would recommend this place, whether ‘Dotties’ or any of the other properties. It’s a pity the Pub & Shop prices are high & Sofas not so comfortable, but these have not stopped us recommending this accommodation for staying.

  Perfect location for town centre and away from all the crowds and access to railway station only taking 15 mins to Scarborough. The Property has lots of character and period features especially the wood paneled living room. Good kitted out kitchen with everything you need. Extremely large conservatory good for kids and dogs.TV with firestick. I would recommend replacing all the woodchip wallpaper and changing the mattress for memory foam. Internet access perfect for remote working. Large enclosed gardens giving freedom for the dogs. Drive has parking for two large cars. Had a really enjoyable Easter break with lots of walks on the coastal paths and beach.

  Hi, just had a week in Dotty's cottage, cleanliness not great especially around ...

  Hi, just had a week in Dotty's cottage, cleanliness not great especially around the cooker,hob, and utensils,tin opener broken, frying pan dirty,ring around the bath, dishwasher door and washer door both need attention,two sofa beds in lounge, arms are down to wood under fabric and springs are completely knackered, don't know if they're any good as beds, spent most of the week sat at the table or outside where some of the patio set is on its last legs, barbecue not usable, but great suntrap and good location, better than some we've stayed in, get these bit's sorted and cleaning more detailed and we'll return if that's ok, cheers Chris

  Nicely located for easy access to the town centre, bus station and trains etc. but far away enough to be pleasantly quiet. Very spacious and comfortable sitting room with well equipped kitchen. The beds are comfortable. King size in main bedroom makes all the difference! Bathroom is clean and tidy but did find the wash basin rather a toil due to its shallow depth and the bath, whilst deep, lacked grab handles to get yourself out even though the shower has a grab handle! Downstairs loo has an intergrated wash basin which can prove difficult to use. All in all though a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the break

  My late husband, sister & I have stayed in many of Sykes holiday cottages over the years and Curlew Cottage certainly was the best internally, equipment and comfortstyle we have been to.

  The instructions to get there were confusing, no sign for Station road or Carr lane and the fact that access was down a single track lane 2 miles,definately needed a Sat Nav. The Patio area for this cottage was uninviting concrete with tatty view of back of Owl Cottage, sheds and clothers dryers, no grass.The photo of Curlew cottage in your brochure suggests it is a detached building which in fact is the corner of three in L shape complex. The area seems very popular with dog owners, mostly off the lead, which although inside was unsettling for our dogs
