  The cottage was lovely, extremely comfortable and clean.

  Close to two great pubs that allowed dogs inside and served fabulous food- The Fox and Hound at Neasham and The Tawny Owl that we drove past to get to the cottage. It was also convenient placed for shops - Asda and Morrisons. Plus a Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop by Asda for a takeout. Plenty to see in the local area and conveniently located to main routes if you wanted to explore further afield. Great dog walking opportunities at Neasham and Croft on Tees. Yorkshire is a beautiful county and the cottage was a perfect base to explore from and was certainly peaceful place to stay with some great views on the site. The cottage was a little tricky to find but the owner was amazing and came and collected us from Tawny Owl to show us the way. Sat nav takes you to a garage - drive past it - first left - you will see 4 or 5 properties on your right and a triangle field. Follow the road round driving through two gate posts. Turn immediately right - you are on a long drive with wall one side and hedge the other - The Potteries is on right. The only minor inaccuracy on Sykes website was listing a DVD player - there wasn't one - plenty of games and three TVs -which get a very good signal. Plus lovely library of books. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend staying at this cottage.

  Fairhaven is a lovely lodge, clearly well cared for, with the hard work and pride of the owners being evident as soon as you walk in.

  The kitchen is well equipped and fitted with everything you could need for your stay. The living and dining areas are spacious providing comfortable space, perfect for relaxing. The access into the lodge could benefit from some revision. The main entrance, which is just a few steps onto the decking is located at the bottom of the incline of the parking area which can become slippery when wet, and combined with the ground level change of the the parking area can be a challenge if you are not as sure footed. As such, I opted to use the rear entrance. Unfortunately, the bottom and top steps lack sufficient depth for secure foot placement, which could be improved. Given that the lodge is advertised as pet-friendly, I was surprised to discover that dogs are restricted from certain areas of the lodge. This is not clearly advised at the point of booking unlike the other rules which are sufficiently communicated. Those few points of feedback aside, Fairhaven Lodge is a fantastic getaway. If you're seeking peace and relaxation, this is the perfect spot. The park's residents and fellow holidaymakers were warm and friendly, always offering a kind 'hello' when stepping outside the door. Some great places to visit close by and I strongly recommend the Farmers Arms!

  This is an out of the way cottage, therefore, it is really nice and quiet, I didn't see a soul.

  Everything you could ask for is in this newly built cottage, even a freezer which is not in the specs. It is spacious, clean and comfortable and nicely furnished. It is on the doorstep to the Yorkshire Dales, where you'll find Aysgarth Falls, Richmond, Herriot country where All Creatures Great & Small the series was filmed in and around the Askrigg area. You have Darlington shopping centre a couple of miles away or shop at Morrisons for your food which is on the outskirts of town and not far from the cottage. You're also not that far from Durham City 30 min drive where you could look around the beautiful cathedral or an hours drive to beautiful York. Even take a trip to the east coast around a 30 minute drive away to Hartlepool or just over an hour drive to Whitby. In fact, the cottage is quite central to many interesting areas. As for the cottage, you'll not be disappointed.

  Beautiful, clean and exceptionally well equipped bungalow.

  Situated in a rural area on the outskirts of Darlington but only 7 minutes drive to Sainsburys in the town centre. The bungalow is down a small lane adjacent to a residential mobile home site.( no issues ) Take your dog to the top of the lane, tun left, and there is a wonderful view across the fields and low hills. When we were there poppies were in full bloom and hares cavorting in the fields ! (late June). We would have preferred an enclosed garden for our boisterous 1 year old Shih Tzu but perfection is always difficult to attain ! We hope to return next year to further explore the many attractions and beautiful countryside in this area between the North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales. Sat. Nav. setting N54°29.698 W001°30.839 should take you to parking outside bungalow (hopefully)

  Had a really nice holiday here, the cottage is very secluded and provided a much needed break.

  Owner was lovely and met us near the cottage as would be quite tricky to navigate there when the postcode just provides the general vicinity. Property was immaculate with everything you need for a staycation. Plenty fresh, clean towels and fully equipped kitchen. I never used the dishwasher at all, but if that had been a washing machine, that would have made my day! Wifi was really slow, but we just used our data allowance, so no issues there. I forgot my hairdryer so just went and bought a new one, so remember to pack yours. Have no hesitation in recommending this lovely cottage for your holiday, just book it, you won't be disappointed. It's also really handy for visiting a lot of nice places too, all within less than an hour's drive, but definitely visit Durham, it's sooooo nice!
