What our customers say about their holidays

Lovely apartment in Dorset overlooking the beach.
Clean and tidy on arrival and useful that they supplied fresh tea towels, sponge, j-cloth, bin bag and washing up liquid as well as a few dishwasher tablets so you donât have to buy during 7 day stay. Comfortable stay as plenty of space, quick access to west bay facilities all within walking distance so you can leave the car in secure underground car park until end of holiday if you didnât want to explore the coast further afield. Get sun on balcony from about 2pm and sunset is lovely to watch whilst enjoying bottle of wine on comfy balcony furniture. Plenty to do including paddle boarding from the east beach, rib rides from harbour, river kayaking and rowing boats on River Brit behind the harbour (get to see Broadchurch Detectiveâs riverside chalet from boat) as well as coastal walks to east over the âBroadchurchâ cliffs to Chesil Beach or west over the cliffs to Eype and Golden Cap near Lyme Regis. Incidentally several external areas around the apartment block were used to represent the Broadchurch police station if you enjoyed the TV series. Nearest supermarket is Morrisonâs 2 miles away in Bridport but can pick up bits in Spar if donât want to use the car. Restaurants limited due to Covid with several closed or just doing takeaway but we knew that would be case and apartment had all equipment in kitchen to enable full meals to be prepared so we had best of both worlds as cooking was easy with those lovely sea views.

Settle in, meet Louise the owner, then enjoy the farmhouse, and the surroundings.
Remember its a 400 year old building, rustic, and charming. The hot tub is brand new from Cumbria Spas and is a top of the range one, wow. Didn't expect that, though we knew on booking a hot tub was there, not a new one though with lighting, various jet settings etc, it will take many hours to warm up after you arrive due to the owners cleaning it out for you to use, so it may be a late one the first night if you wish to enjoy it. Was a pleasure staying on a working farm, and the walk into the village about 2 mile and worth it, three good pubs too, though for real ale drinkers the stand out one is the Manor Arms, great pub, everyone so friendly, you know its good when at 4pm on a Wednesday its busy, 8 real ales on offer, and think 7 of those were £2.80 a pint, reasonable in the Lakes. A really good walk is towards Woodland, and beyond, you could spend all day exploring around that area, and its straight from the lane to the left as you leave the site, you will see the signpost for it. All in all a very enjoyable week had by all, laid back, and you don't feel intimidated by the place like some I have stayed at, its not 5 star luxury, just a 5 star stay, will without a doubt look to book it again in the future.

Iâve got to be honest.
The level of cleanliness was disappointing, especially considering the current circumstances. We were told we could not check in until 5pm due to the extra cleaning that needed to be done due to COVID. I seriously doubly that any extra cleaning took place. The bathrooms were quite mouldy, we had to purchase bleach to clean the bathrooms and kitchen sink areas. There were thick layers of dust and cobwebs everywhere. Skirting boards, window sills and cooker was also dirty. We had to request for the hot tub to be emptied and refilled after only one use because it was cloudy, foamy and full of scum. However, the owners were nice and any requests were met. I would stay here again if the level of cleanliness was improved. The cottage is well equipped and the kids loved the animals and stream nearby. We loved the location, however the listing stated that Cottage is not overlooked by the campers when it actually is. The views are stunning and the walk to Broughton village only takes about 40 min.

If youâre looking for a break in the lakes, without the annoyance of the hustle and bustle of tourists like you find at Bowness for example, then this is exactly the place you need to book.
The character filled 500 year old cottage is located within a working farm with a small campsite to the side. Not once were we disturbed by any jobs being done on the farm or the campers coming and going. The hot tub was in a perfect location to enjoy some of the scenery but still isolated from view of campers and sheltered from the wind. The various animals wandering around the farm were a constant source of entertainment and enjoyment, the dogs were all extremely well behaved and comical - the highlight for us was the unexpected litter of 4 week old puppies we were welcomed by which made leaving here that little more difficult! The walks around that are listed in the welcome book were clearly instructed and perfect for dog walkers - just be prepared for some hills if youâre used to more flat walking. Thank you again to Louise and her family for being wonderful hosts and we look forward to coming back in the future

Moss side has the potential to be a fabulous holiday cottage.
The location for exploring the southern lakes is great and the hot tub in the back garden is a lovely welcome back. A welcome pack and some general instructions would have been great on arrival as we spent the rest of the week guessing what was required of us with rubbish/hot tub maintenance etc). Unfortunately I suspect people before us had been smoking and the smell had lingered which did not help the greeting either) The mugs in the kitchen were fabulous for a homely brew, sadly the rest of equipment was a bit sparse, only just enough sets of cutlery for each of us, so we either had to wash upon run the dishwasher between every meal (we also had to buy a pan to do breakfast pancakes), however we do cook most meals when away, so maybe not an issue if you eat out most of the time I hate to list niggles - all in all it was what we needed, but did not feel quite like the 'treat' we thought we had paid for
