What our customers say about their holidays

Very clean very nice caravan Problem with waste made it a very smelly stay unfortunately Residents on site are a law to themselves no bbqs allowed yet all the long term touring vans and carvans hve then and where using them.
Only one car allowed even though the lower portion of the park was empty and two caravans we noticed had multiple cars.. and we booked for three people working away with ££££ worth of tools having to be left in the back of a van next to a big layby with no lighting and very easy to break into on the aide of the a64 No waste bins on site luckily we were able to take them and dispose of them at our work Place. The guy working with us had a dog and he jumped the decking on the first day, there where also no signs anywhere regarding dogs to be kept on leads and as one of us booked on behalf of us all we never got the emails he did stating that, accidents happen and was made sure it didnt happen again. We got a personal call off the owner of the caravan we where staying in saying people(lady in bottom caravan, very rude and no manners mouth like a troth) moning about a dog being off the lead found that abit rude at 9.30pm whilst all trying relax And saying rhe dog was left on own barking witch was not the case as one chap fell Off the ladder on the first day and was bed bound for a week we stayed, we felt interrogated and the chap layed up said the next day after the call the groundsman was found lurking around the van and knocked the door after being told prior there is a chap there 24/7 layed up This shouldnt happen if you are coming away to relax and enjoy a holiday lucky for us all we where there on a working week. Grounds are very clean as was the caravan itself bar the smell witch os due to a waste issue Outside of the van not the caravan itself Lovely welcome gift in the way of a bottle of wine and dog treats wrapped in a bow Water pressure is very good. We ran out of gas the evening before we left wasnt ideal when three guys needed shower but again that cannot be helped Lady in reception very nice very friendly and helpful allways smiling that goes a long way. Bar was not open all week and not one local for a couple of miles. Would we stay again no not for work or a holiday based on the fact of someone snooping around the van and calls from the actual caravan owner at 9.30 at night we stay away regularly and have never had this

Just returned from a great break at Engine Room Cottage, Sledmere.
The Cottage is located on the outskirts of the village on the Bridlington Rd. Although a main road the traffic, was minimal and road noise zero. The Cottage is brilliantly furnished and offers 3 separate bathrooms, that was brilliant to our group of 3 couples. Two bedrooms are on the upper floor incorporating en-suite, whilst the third with 2 single beds is on the lower floor with an adjacent bathroom. The lounge/kitchen is of open plan design, with patio doors offering access to limited outdoor seating. The owner was a very obliging individual and couldnât do enough for us, even though located some 50 miles away. The Cottage is superbly kitted out with every utensil you could imagine, games, dvd and books available. We were somewhat limited in having access to Sledmere House as it was closed for the season, but our limited siting gave a desire to return and view at a later date.. We ate in the Triton Inn and I would highly recommend this, with a great selection of food and drinks. We walked through to the other nearest pub/restaurant at Helperthorpe on Saturday afternoon, but were disappointed to discover that both locations didnât open until 6.00pm and an 11 mile walk does give you appetite and thirst. Visited Malton on Friday, the micro pub Brass Castle, well worth a visit. If using Taxis, do some homework as the rates quoted from Sledmere to Malton, varied between £75, £45 & £33. Malton is a lovely visit and I would recommend. Beware of limited parking at the Cottage and we did have s number of issues, but to be fair, it is recommended for 2 cars, but unfortunately we had 3. Overall great location, great faculties, very clean and with a very obliging owner on the end of the phone.

Me, my partner and our dog had a lovely stay!
We got out of the stay exactly what we were looking for. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, everyone spoke to us and we even joined in playing pool and darts. If Iâm honest we stopped in a chalet and we both agreed weâd come back to the site but stop in a caravan next time. The chalets are nice but they do lack cooking facilities and a bit more space when you have a pet too. It was not very warm and we did struggle to dry our clothes, however it was March and poor weather. Could not fault the bed and the comfort of the mattress 10/10. The shower was lovely and the hot tub beautiful. Lovely touch having the robes provided too. We made some great friends in the bar and they made our stay! Itâs a lovely base for visiting local areas, we went to Scarborough, Whitby and Filey during our stay. There is also great walks from the site, which we loved and made the most of. Thank you Snooty Fox, we will hopefully see you again soon.

This was a last-minute booking which we decided to make as the weather forecast was looking so good, so Iâm a way we were limited in choice.
Engine Room cottage certainly did not disappointâ¦.very thoughtfully prepared by its owner, Catherine, who could not be more helpful. Some superb finishing touches such as Bluetooth speaker, lots of magazines and games to amuse if the weather is poor, and the pass giving access to nearby Sledmere House and Gardens is way above and beyond what we had expected. Itâs nice that Catherine clearly cares a lot about the guest experienceâ¦.she contacted us during our journey to advise of a, really very minor issue that had been discovered during the changeover, which did not affect us at all, but Catherine clearly was concerned that everything was fine. As for location etc, itâs in a really nice place for early morning and evening dog walks around the Sledmere deer park (back to T junction left then right) and other visitor attractions within easy reach, The beach at Hunmanby Gap that is recommended in the guest folder is amazing!

A lovely stay at a lovely comfy lodge and on a lovely quite park .
The lodge was lovely and clean although very col on arrival but it soon warmed up within the hour once the heating was on .And the welcome pack was a lovely treat .Only a few things that i fill may be more of a help than a complaint and that is that we have stayed in many lodges over the years and although this lodge had more than enough storage for cloths etc it did not have any coat hangers for coats long tops etc it could also do with a roasting tin or two and indeed a iron and a ironing board would come in handy /Also some cleaning cloths would have been good so we could have cleaned the sinks etc properly ..Also please be careful when using the saucepans as the little milk one does not stand on the cooker properly it can be very dodgy .However these are just small problems that are easy fixed and we did have a great time there .There is so much to see and do around the aera .
