What our customers say about their holidays

We were very happy with this lodge.
We were a little skeptical given some of the reviews about cleanliness of the kitchen. This was not an issue for us, everything was clean, oven worked well. The living room, bathrooms and bedrooms were all clean and comfy. There were just a few minor points, the fridge was turned off when we arrived and we didn't realise it was off until the next morning, the switch is behind the microwave. A note on the fridge explaining that it's off when you arrive and you need to turn it on behind the microwave would have helped. One of the mattress covers was very stained and dirty which isn't very nice. Like other reviews we found the lack of information folder unusual, there is no information about the lodge, park or local area (bar a few leaflets). Information about wifi, electric, bins, tv etc along with the park itself and the local area eg bus routes, taxi firms, emergency info if needed eg doctors, vets, dentists. The wifi didn't work at all while we were at the lodge and the phone signal is not great, o2 was ok for web browsing but google maps was very slow, three didn't work at all in the lodge so looking up information was difficult in the lodge. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. it was excellent value for money.

The property was on the whole to a high standard.
Inside was great, apart from a few dated utensils. Sofas acceptable although could be a little bigger as quite shallow and not as comfortable. Windows and doors are getting tired and are stiff and difficult to open and close. An annoying drip over the front door from a compromised gutter. Parkdean didnât seem happy to help, when ( the lady on reception) realised we hadnât booked with them direct. However, I would book again, great lodge position and super clean. Comfortable beds, good size fridge freezer , etc. Clean carpets, no smell and tasteful finishes. Key box is awkward if motor skills are not 100% or a customer is disabled! Took us a few attempts to open it. Hot tub was clean, water level did drop the day before we left. Obviously it wasnât refilled as this would have reduced the temperature. Plenty of seating around the outside space, decking was slippy due to the rain in the night. The area outside the front door remained safe as this was different material and maybe in the future the whole decking area would benefit from this upgrade. We were careful so no problem but if used by children could be a problem. Loved our stay at Damson Lodge thank you. The above is only feed back and not intended to offend or complain

We stayed at Willow Lodge with our springer for a week in May.
It was out first holiday taking the dog, but we picked this lodge especially as it had the decking which was all sealed in so the dog could play out without escaping. The lodge was amazing, it was just like being at home. There was everything you could think of in there, we needn't have brought all the little bits like washing up liquid and bin bags as it was fully equipped. There were dvd's, books, games, leaflets. The lodge itself was huge, two reasonable size bedrooms with 2 single beds in each (which we didn't need to use) but these both had TVs in them, and the main bedroom with en suite and small walk in wardrobe was perfect. Everything was clean and tidy, getting the key was simple, the site was well looked after, and there is even a place on site called Deer Park where dogs can run freely. On numerous occasions we were sat in the living area when a deer would appear right outside the lodge, such a wonderful place! We can't wait to return to Willow Lodge, I would definitely take my own pillow next time as the ones provided are very thin but that's no criticism, just personal preference! Such a lovely lodge in a great position on the site, very peaceful and not many cars passing either. Lovely holiday!

We were very impressed with the size and location of the lodge.
The inside was clean, spacious and had all the mod cons that helped us feel very at home. We didnât use the gas BBQ due to the weather but this was a lovely addition to the wonderful outdoor furniture that was provided. Great facilities on site with use of the pool, however it did get booked up so would recommend to book in advance. The only gripes we had was the lack of WiFi available as we struggled to connect to the on-site WiFi due to it being a weak signal. It also would have been a nice addition to have a message from the owner with some information about the site, location and amenities to help with how to book swimming, connect to WiFi etc. With the booking not being through Park Dean, you feel a little lost with what you can and canât access at the start. Also, a little mention about towels as there was confusion on whether these were provided or not-it said they were on some communications and not on others. The towels werenât provided so please bring your own. Apart from this, the lodge was superb and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful surroundings and a bit of peace from a busy pace of life. Thank you!

We booked this lodge based on previous reviews and sadly it did not meet our expectations.
On arrival the lodge was warm and appeared clean - we later discovered the microwave was filthy and on using the hob grease actually dripped down from the cooker hood. We cleaned this to make it usable and reported to the cleaning ladies who assured us they would do a deep clean for the incoming guests. The lodge is very well equipped and the towels and bedding were really lovely. However the lodge is in need of some TLC. There are some marks on the wallpaper in several areas and the dining chairs are badly marked. The outside area is very well furnished but the decking and surrounding railings need repair work.- we had to use a recliner against the railings to ensure our dog did not escape. The hot tub was well serviced on a daily basis but the brambles growing through the fence into this area made it a challenge to remove the cover without getting scratched. All the PAT tests on the electrical equipment expired in January 2024 - not a legal requirement we know but reassuring to guests that they are staying in a safe property. We don't feel we could recommend this lodge unless some time and money is spent bringing it up to standard!
